Policies & service terms

Clear expectations before the work begins.

Use this page to understand how appointments, assessments, estimates, installations, customer-supplied equipment, payments and warranties are handled.

The written proposal, estimate or invoice for a specific job may contain additional job-specific terms. If it differs from this general guide, the terms shown on that job document control.
Appointments

Arrival windows and communication

Residential appointments are generally scheduled within a four-hour arrival window to account for job duration, routing and Metro Atlanta traffic. When applicable, the technician calls approximately 30 minutes before arrival.

Online availability shows bookable windows. Urgent or emergency needs should be handled by phone because online availability may not reflect the fastest response option.

Assessment policy

The $75 service-call assessment

A $75 on-site assessment may apply when a technician must diagnose a garage-door, operator or access problem. When completed repair work exceeds $75, the assessment is applied toward that repair bill.

A presold service with an established price does not receive a separate service-call charge when the work proceeds within the agreed standard scope.
Estimates

Garage-door replacement estimates are free

Garage Door Nova does not charge a service-call fee for a standard garage-door replacement estimate. Repair diagnosis, operator diagnosis and other service visits may follow the assessment policy above.

Operator selection

A preferred model is preparation information

Selecting an operator on the website tells our team what equipment the customer prefers and helps us prepare the service vehicle. The selection is not a completed purchase or final compatibility approval.

The technician confirms the door condition, balance, mounting area, power requirements, rail requirements and compatible controls before installation.

Operator installation

Prepared for a possible same-day installation

When a customer selects a Garage Door Nova supplied operator before scheduling, we prepare for that model subject to current inventory. After inspection and customer approval, installation may be completed during the same visit when conditions allow.

  • Diagnosis and compatibility confirmation come before installation.
  • Included controls and accessories depend on the selected model.
  • Door repairs, electrical work, reinforcement or special mounting may require additional work.
Customer-supplied equipment

Customer-supplied opener installations

Garage Door Nova installs eligible customer-supplied garage-door openers by appointment. The opener must be new and unopened in its original manufacturer box. Provide the brand and model when booking; review the eligible opener list before selecting an appointment.

  • Eligibility and compatibility are confirmed before installation. Opened, assembled, damaged, defective or ineligible equipment will not be installed under this service.
  • Required parts or materials beyond those included with the opener may be supplied by Garage Door Nova at an additional cost. We explain the cost and obtain approval before providing them.
  • If installation cannot be completed for any reason, the $75 service-call assessment charge applies to the visit. The technician will explain the issue and any available next steps.
  • We cannot hold the appointment while a customer obtains missing parts or materials elsewhere. If additional materials are declined, installation may be deferred and any return visit is scheduled separately.

See service-call assessments, additional work and materials, and warranty coverage for related terms.

Changes in scope

Additional work and materials

Quoted or advertised starting prices assume normal installation conditions and the stated scope. Additional charges may apply for required repairs, structural reinforcement, special mounting, electrical conditions, oversized or unusually heavy doors, missing parts, requested accessories or other work outside that scope.

We explain additional billable work and obtain approval before providing parts, materials or labor outside the quoted scope. An appointment cannot be held while a customer shops for missing items; declined materials may require the work to be deferred and a separate return appointment.
Payments

Deposits and special orders

Jobs requiring ordered equipment, return trips or reserved materials may require a deposit. Deposit amount, refundability and payment schedule are stated on the applicable proposal, estimate or invoice before payment.

Coverage

Parts and labor warranties

Garage Door Nova generally provides a one-year labor warranty on eligible completed work. Parts are covered according to the applicable manufacturer warranty. Customer-supplied equipment remains subject to its manufacturer or seller terms, and warranty coverage may differ from equipment supplied by Garage Door Nova.

Warranty service depends on the original scope, proper use and no intervening repair or alteration by another party. Specific exclusions or longer manufacturer coverage may be shown on the job documents.

Safety

Compatibility and safe operating conditions

Garage Door Nova may pause, modify or decline work that would leave a door or operator unsafe, incompatible or noncompliant with required safety functions. Necessary corrective work will be explained before proceeding.
